Through the Tariq Farid Foundation, we have been able to support many different worthwhile organizations. Most recently, we have had the opportunity to team up with the Spanish Community of Wallingford (SCOW), which helps members of the Hispanic community who are experiencing temporary financial setbacks.

On Thursday evening I was honored to be among a group of local businesspeople inducted into the Junior Achievement of Southwest New England’s Business Hall of Fame.
One thing that made the evening so special was that my children were there to see me accept the award. I believe it is one of our greatest responsibilities to inspire and educate the next generation, which is why the mission of Junior Achievement is so close to my heart. One of the most intimidating challenges of moving to a new country is learning a new language and customs. I know this from first-hand experience.
Thanks to the help of caring teachers and new friends, however, I was able to make the transition when I moved to this country as a child. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have such support.

Through the Tariq Farid Foundation, we have been blessed to be able to support many worthwhile organizations that are helping those in need. It is a sad fact of life that there are those who, through no fault of their own, often find themselves suffering in tragic situations. Yet I never cease to be amazed at the generosity of those who are willing to give their time and energy to help ease the suffering.
One such organization is the Connecticut Food Bank, the state’s non-profit leader in the fight against hunger and the largest provider of charitably donated food.
