Known to enjoy some sweet treats myself, I am very excited about the recent announcement that Jacques Torres is sharing his incredible skills and craftsmanship with Edible Arrangements as we add a new Edible Chocolate brand to our product line.

When we began looking at creating a line of chocolates, we knew we wanted something that would be just as delicious as they are beautiful. At the same time, the new line needed to complement to our existing products and we soon discovered that Jacques, known to many as “Mr. Chocolate,” was the perfect partner to make it happen. He is a famed New York City master chocolatier and recipient of the James Beard Award. Adding to his impressive resume, he was the first artisan chocolatier to start from cocoa beans to make his own chocolate.

Now, taking advantage of a culinary career that spans more than four decades, Jacques has created a “WOW-worthy” line of delicious sweets, confirming that we could not have found a better partner for a collaboration. Marrying chocolate with fruits, caramel or nuts, all from scratch and using the finest ingredients that we have all come to know and love, the chocolates he crafted are the perfect compliment to the holiday season!

The chocolate comes in either dark, milk or white premium Belgium chocolate. The hand-crafted chocolate sweets are filled with fruit, including some of my favorites, such as raspberry, pineapple, orange and passion fruit. Jacques has also created mouthwatering options that incorporate caramel and hazelnut crunch as the filling.

I want to personally thank Jacques and the entire Edible Arrangements team for creating these beautiful and delicious treats. And what better time to enjoy them than the holidays!

One of the reasons this time of year is so special to me is that it is a time of family traditions.

Ask someone the simple question “what are you going to do for the holidays?” and without hesitation you will very likely get an enthusiastic response that includes something the family does when it gets together every year.

It might be a tradition that the great-grandparents brought over from the “old country.” It might be a new tradition that began when they were just a child and now has become their responsibility to keep alive. Some are deeply thoughtful and filled with meaning, some are comical and there are even those traditions started by accident that have now become an important part of the family’s holiday experience.

For all of us traditions create special memories that will last a lifetime, but even more importantly they renew that unique bond and sense of belonging among family members.

At Edible Arrangements we asked members of our corporate family to share some of their favorite traditions. If you click on the link to the video below you will see that the traditions are as wide-ranging as you would expect from such a diverse group.

My wish is that each of you will enjoy a holiday season filled with family, friends and loved ones, all sharing your favorite traditions.

Happy Holidays!

At sundown today members of the Edible Arrangements corporate staff and franchise community that are of the Jewish faith will begin observing Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. And Christmas, of course, is less than two weeks away.

At times like this I am reminded of the diversity of the Edible Arrangements family and the beauty of watching people of various religions, races and cultures coming together in support of a single purpose.

As I look around the Edible Arrangements offices, I marvel at the diversity of the organization. It begins at the very top where we have a founder and CEO who is Muslim and a President who is Jewish! I haven’t checked into it, but my guess is that the Edible Arrangements office closely mirrors the diversity of the nation overall.

Much of the success we have enjoyed over the years can be credited to such variety of thought and experiences. It has led to everything from creative new products to innovative ways of operating our franchises. Even more importantly, it seems to create a vibrancy and energy that would not be possible otherwise.

As our Jewish friends prepare to celebrate the coming holiday and we prepare for other celebrations over the coming weeks, now is the perfect time to celebrate our individual differences and our individual cultures. Embracing diversity makes us all better people.
