Learning to read can be a challenge. Two established literacy programs in the region, New Haven Reads and Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven, help children and adults improve literacy skills and empower them for success. And the Tariq Farid Foundation is proud to support their work.
A chance to give back, and give the gift of life
As the home of my family and many of my businesses, Connecticut holds a special place in my heart. And one of the things that makes it so special to me is how many unsung heroes I have been fortunate enough to meet and help support over the years. Edible Arrangements delivers a summer of fun for area children
Summer always marked one of my favorite seasons as a child, and in less than 100 days it will officially be summer. For many kids across the country, that means it’s time to start packing for summer camp.
For many children, camp is a great place discover their talents and skills while gaining confidence, making new friends and exploring the wonders of nature during such developmentally critical times in their life.
Honoring Our Commitment To Giving Back
As I have said many times, I deeply believe that with success comes a responsibility to give back to your community. It is not just a personal value but a value that is shared by the entire Edible Arrangements family. It is the reason we created our Edible Cares program and the reason that Asma and I created the The Tariq Farid Foundation.
We didn’t create these programs for recognition, but rather because we believe that they are important. When we are recognized for our work, however, it is much appreciated and that was the case recently when I traveled to Washington, D.C., to accept the Franchising Gives Back Gold Award from the International Franchise Association (IFA) on behalf of everyone involved in Edible Arrangements and the Tariq Farid Foundation.
